Minutes of the Dental Forum of Milwaukee

Business Meeting, October 9, 2009

 

President Dr. Jennifer Abraham called the first business meeting for the program year 2009-2010 to order at 3:15 p.m.

 

Dr. Jeff Keesler, Secretary, reported the attendance of 33 active members, 4 life members, 3 guests, 4 AEG students, and 6 graduate students.  The total attendance was 50.

 

The Treasurer, Dr. David Martin, was absent, so Dr. Tim McNamara reported a checking balance of $73,473.52.

 

Dr. Nancy Larson, Program Chairperson, announced Dr. Terry Donavan will speak on Esthetics on November 13.

 

Dr. Ken Walizsweski, Historian, announced the availability of a group photo of the Milwaukee Dental Forum is now available to members.  He passed out details for purchasing the photo and a framing option.

 

In the absence of Dr. Mark Huberty, Membership Chairperson, Dr. Hank Rossi gave the new members their membership plaques.

 

Dr. Lyndsay Knoell, Christmas Party Chairperson, announced the MAC will give Forum members a discounted room rate of $99.00 for the Christmas Party on December 11, 2009.  The group also agreed to have invitations to the big event sent out by conventional mail.

 

Dr. Bob Feider began preliminary discussions over the Walter Farrell Memorial Golf Outing and Bike Ride.

 

Old business was discussed.  There is no interest in creating an Associate Membership.  Dr. Tim McNamara facilitated a discussion regarding our 501c3 filing status with the IRS.

 

New business was discussed.  Jennifer Abraham discussed the donation of $500.00 to the White Coat Ceremony.  She also requested the updating of the Operations Manual by November 5th.  Dr. Tim McNamara suggested we should consider having an accountant review our financial sheet.  There was a motion from Dr. Byers that carried to wait to do this financial “clean up” until after we purchase a new laptop and update our financial software.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
